“Our ultimate goals are reformed textbooks and teachers committed to tolerance and peace.”
WHAT ARE PALESTINIAN CHILDREN CURRENTLY EXPOSED TO IN THE CLASSROOM?
Incitement-filled books that encourage hatred and the killing of Jews, deny the existence of the Jewish State of Israel (a UN member state), claim that Jews have no historical connection to the land and glorify martyrs.
Promoting martyrdom and jihad will not produce a generation of Palestinians inclined to negotiate a
peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Even if UNRWA were to be dissolved, the hate and incitement in the education would still have to be addressed.
THROUGH ADVOCACY AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE US CONGRESS, UN MEMBER STATES, NGOS, WIDER CIVIL SOCIETY AND INDIVIDUALS, OUR MISSION IS TO END THE TEACHING OF VIOLENCE AND TERRORISM IN THE SCHOOLS.
This video is about Camp Jihad - filmed on location in UNRWA Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem during the summer of 2013. The film was produced by the Center for Near East Policy Research to expose dangerous UNRWA policies and practices.
Over decades, various entities within the UN have adopted anti-Israel resolutions on many topics.
This analysis shows how the United Nations, in violation of its Charter, has built within its system an apparatus designed to destroy one of its 193 member states.
Our thoughts in the media
David Bedein, head of the Center for Near East Policy Research, told JNS that as a result of the educational curriculum used in Shuafat’s UNRWA schools, “every child is indoctrinated that they should kill the Jews.” But what is unique, says Bedein, is the fact that “this is happening inside Israel.”
As co-chairs of ReformUNRWA: Stop Teaching Hate , we believe Ilhan Omar must be removed from the Committee and urge the committee Chair, Congressman Engel, and other democrats and republicans to work toward that goal.
The United Nations has a terrible record in situations like this. When the Human Rights Commission was disbanded because of its bias and inaction against human rights violations, it was replaced by the Human Rights Council, which has adopted virtually all the abysmal policies and personnel of its predecessor. Changing the name of an organization does not change its agenda. We will continue to campaign for a replacement for UNRWA that will promote peace.
With the United Nations General Assembly meeting this past week, they have been keen to bring to the attention of the world the education that is being provided in UNRWA schools. We believe that the hate-filled education that has been provided to young Palestinians over the last three generations is a leading cause of the failure to achieve peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
Our message is simple: The education of Palestinian school children must change drastically if there is ever to be a lasting negotiated peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Why? Because these schools have been inciting three generations of young Palestinians to hate and kill Jews, and the only means of conflict resolution that these students have been exposed to is one of violence.
This means that UNRWA schools will no longer be given permits and licenses to operate in eastern Jerusalem and will be replaced by municipal schools. According to the report, there is already a plan to lease new buildings or, at least, to install temporary buildings that will serve as schools.
Thanks to the twisted mandate it got from the U.N. in the 1950s, it has perpetuated the plight of Palestinian refugees from one generation to the next. The mandate prohibits UNRWA from resettling those "refugees" and find them a permanent home, ensuring that they keep entertaining the idea that one day they will get the "right of return."
UNRWA’s claim that their hereditary refugee status for Palestinians is not unique is simply untrue. There is no parallel and no precedent, even in protracted conflict situations, for the manner in which UNRWA transfers the “registered refugee” status, automatically, through the generations, while refusing to take any actions that would end this status.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, deleted a tweet Monday that glorified a terrorist, with the organization blaming “brief, unauthorized access” to its Twitter account for the incident.
How does Hamas educates Palestinian kids to be combatants? Here is the full report!
“If you truly want peace, rather than just feel good about wanting peace — and there are a lot of those — and if you actually understand that at the end of the day they [the Palestinians] are the ones with whom we have to live and share the country, you need to be realistic about where they’re coming from”
In a rare move, UNRWA, the UN refugee agency for Palestinians that is largely funded by EU states, deleted a tweet after a watchdog group protested that the post glorified a man who served as spokesman of the PFLP terrorist group when it orchestrated the Lod Airport Massacre in 1972, killing 26 and injuring 80.
Hamas has spent years poisoning the hearts and minds of Palestinian children. The Islamist movement is now trying a new brainwashing tactic: exorcism. The practice, which aims to cast out "demons" that might have wormed their way into the children's souls, has shocked many Palestinians.
As the decades have passed, anti-Israel resolutions have been adopted on a variety of topics by a variety of entities within the UN system. What this analysis shows is how the United Nations, in truly outrageous violation of its Charter, has built within its system an apparatus designed to destroy one of its 193 member states.
Jay Shapiro claims that since 1948 the United Nations has been supporting Palestinian terrorism.
In his opinion, the time has come to stop this, and that we need to start by looking at the educational aspects of the UN's activity.
